Owen is a supremely talented match winner, who has excelled in Heineken Cup and international rugby for over decade.
Having represented Wales U20s, he was scouted by Leicester Tigers as a 20 year old, and quickly established himself as their starting 10 ahead of the England 10 at the time, Toby Flood.
His astute game management, elite goalkicking and world class defending either at 10 or 12 made him one of the most sought after players in England or Wales.
Williams has started Test Matches at 10 and 12, and has a cool head under pressure and the ability to single handedly win games with his deadly goalkicking, prodigious punt , deft passing and offloading game and aggressive defending.
Williams would have played much more international rugby if Wales didn’t have a selection policy requiring playing in Wales or have 25 caps to be selected.
After Worcester went into administration, Williams was a driving force in the Ospreys pushing to the knockout stages in Europe which saw him again selected for his country. He has a great rugby brain and is a world class game controlling 10 of the highest pedigree.
